A Tear of Blood


I once drempt that, on a sunny day
I was surrounded by sand
and heat and pain.

Out of the smoke emerged a dove
it flew to me
down from above.

Quietly I whispered in its ear
to the bird I said,
"What brings you here?"

The reason I'm here you see
the people out there
they're calling for me.

No one will listen, so to you I must tell
The little bird said
To escape this hell

I wish to come back, I want to stay
but the choking smoke
it drives me away

While I listened from where I stood
from the dove's eye
fell a tear of blood

I tried to tell them, what I must mention
these dark red tears
don't get my attention.

I've told you enough, now I have to go
He shouted then
tell everyone you know

I'll come back, he said as I cried
when the smoke is gone
and then he died.
