The Metroid story timeline up until Other M

So, now you know the story leading up to the game, possibly the timeline and events, etc. I think this is pretty interesting to see, because I never really knew about the baby Metroid that saved Samus.

It seems obvious that the baby Metroid is going to have a serious role in the games' story. Another thing thats interests me is how Adam is going to affect the story.

Well wait, doesn't this game start off with the baby metroid sacrificing itself?

Its quite possible that there will be some flashbacks in the game. Assuming that Adam is in the story, it is before Metroid Fushion. A vaccine is used to allow Samus to survive Parasite X, this vaccine was made from the baby Metroid, and Samus mentions that twice she has been saved by the Metroid. First time being the Mother Brain in Super Metroid. Which means this story must be taking place after Super Metroid, and before Metroid Fusion.
