Introduction
Jump Ultimate Stars starts off by telling you a few things about the Jump Galaxy. Then it tells you that it is in danger and that heroes from all over the Manga world are selected to help fight for its peace to be restored.
You get a starting deck which has Naruto [K4] (4th Coma, aka 4th Level), Luffy [K4], Goku [K2], Gin [K1], and Muhyo [K1]. All the characters with [K4] and above are characters you can be to control and fight with. All character with [K3] - [K2] are Support Komas which helps you fight by using their abilities. And lastly [K1]'s are just help komas which can lend an ability to the person it's pointed at.

An example of a deck looks like this:

Kinda like panels inside of a comic book or a manga book.

Gameplay
In the game, you can play the story mode to try to unlock new characters by filling out the requirements for the misson that you play. In the tourney mode you just fight everyone and if you get ranked 1, you can unlock a new deck to play with. In Quiz mode, you get J-Coins which can help you buy stuff at the shop. And in Multiplayer, you can fight up to 3 different people online!

An example of a fight in JUS looks like this:

Gameplay: 4/5, really nice and easy fights most of the time, but trying to figure out how to unlock some of the really good characters is hard. Also alot of people on multiplayer don't fight and others abuse glitches.

Graphics
The Graphics are a 3Dish style and very cartoony.
The game can lag online when people fight though and because of moving objects.

Example of Graphics:

Graphics: 4/5

Music and Sound
There is different music for each stage and all of it is great!

M&S: 5/5

Controls
The Controls are easy to understand, though the Japanese will through off most players. But fortunately, there are guides on GameFAQs that can assist with the translation most of the time.

Controls: 3/5

Replay Value
You can redo missions to try to get the achievements you missed to unlock new characters and when you beat the game, you can still go back and play to get things you missed.

Replay Value: 5/5

Overall
Overall, Jump Ultimate Stars is an easy game to understand, once you figure out what most of the Japanese means. This game is a great game for those who like Shonen Jump manga. Its also a pretty fun game for if you want to see how it would be like if two characters from two different mangas fought against eachother.

Overall Rating: 4.5

I've played this game A LOT on my friend's DS - he snapped it up when we were in Japan. You really don't need any experience in Japanese at all, it doesn't make much difference at all. As long as you know which button is SUPERFUCKINGMASSIVEUPPERCUT, then you'll be fine.
In all seriousness though, recommended, probably the best on-the-go fighting game around. Period.

This game is still in Japanese, but I imported it from a web site (not going to say which because I think it violates some forum rules, just PM me for the site), but if you don't want to import it, just download a rom (not going to tell the site as it is illegal) and there is actually an english patch for the game made by fans (the translation is ok, but grammar is horrible in there, but still good if you do not want to import and want it in english...of course this way is illegal. If you do import it, some sites might be 50$US but search around and you might find a good price. If you import, there is actually a faq that walk you through the entire game and tell you how everything works.

Highly recommended game, but I do not think it will ever hit the states any time soon as the main issue is with North American publishers as each of the manga series in this game is owned by different companies and publishers for their respective games.
