Since guests roam around and have yet to join, I was wondering if anyone would have an idea for the reason. There is usually more guests online than there is members. Guests can view threads and whatnot, am I correct? Maybe they will view this thread, but they cannot reply. They only way WiiUsers will expand is if we appeal to these "guests."

Oh, and what happened to the shoutbox, members can only view it, right? Though it is still not there.

Guests are mostly programs like bots, advertisers, or already signed up members lurking the forums. As to the rest of them. I have no clue why the're here.

Some guests visit a site to read the content (like tutorials and guides etc). The best way is to install a mod that in some way limits guest viewing. On my XBox 360 site, guests can only view 10 threads before they're told to register.

This is actually really clever.

And with a vbulletin site, I KNOW this is possible.

But, would something like that limit the bots?

Just computer programs. They usually sign up, make a thread that says total gibberish and post a link for advertising.

The term "bot" also includes search spiders (like google's search spider etc). The mod I'm talking about doesn't affect them I believe. I sue it at my own site and will quite happily provide a link to it at vbulletin.org
