Skyward Sword Rant
Horrible. I'll probably still buy it and i'll probably still love it but I have no clue why they went back on their word. My understanding was that this was going to be new and exciting, dark and original. Instead they made a Wind Waker copy that just so happens to include and adult Link who looks like he's been hitting the red potions a bit too much. I dunno, maybe it's just cause it's a teaser, but why would they take away from the rich texture of TP. Now everything's flat and unshaded. I've had enough of Wind Waker games, I loved them but I want a villain I can hate. Give me Ganon and make him be in the story for more than 10-20 minutes at the end.
They said Link was older now and wiser. they said it would be story rich and appeal more so to the hardcore Zelda fan. Instead they stepped down from TP's amazing shading. I'm all sadfaced at Ninty, the first time I played OoT I thought they could do no wrong. Sure it will probably be a good game, but can I get just one more OoT/MM/TP game? I mean those are the only ones that weren't either 2D or cell shaded. Why do this now? Do this in 5-10 years when we're contempt with a better game.
We just got 3 cel-shaded games wrapping around Twilight Princess, I mean why would they step down now? I think I'm done. I'll wait for another trailer but if this ends up being childish and Wind Waker style I'll just stick to other games. I loved Wind Waker but I was excited for the whole dark, edgy theme they had planned. skyward Sword? Blow me.
Maybe i'm over reacting but seriously, why? Why not stockpile this and release something...I dunno, amazing.
