Default Samus' "human side" to be shown in Metroid: Other M

For those of you who are waiting for more news on Metroid: Other M, this isn't much. Metroid: Other M, the next installment in the Metroid series, was announced at E3 '09 with a trailer that has left us with so many questions that we can't contain ourselves. Some new info has been released about the game, but not exactly what most of us were looking for.

Famitsu interviewed the co-creator of Metroid, Yoshio Sakamoto, a short-lived interview to be exact. The whole thing only covered one page of the magazine. The highlight was Sakamoto saying that the game will be showing Samus' "human side." He wants us to better know the bounty hunter's emotions. "She's a strong woman, but she also has a fragile side. We want to make a game whose charms can be felt from the story areas and these human touches as well," Sakamoto says. Now don't panic, Metroid isn't going to turn into some intergalactic soap opera or anything. Sakamoto plans to keep the adventure and action the main focus of the game as said here, "It's an action game, but it's capable of having a clear emotional side."

D-Rockets and Team Ninja are helping with the making of the game along with Nintendo. D-Rockets has control of the movie scenes while Nintendo keeps a close eye on Team Ninja for any shots of Samus jumping in a bikini. The game is set to release later this year.

No official date but at the end of the Other M trailer it said 3 numbers like 3.7.1 which people thought might be the day,month, and year 2010 as 1. I'm not sure check the trailer.

I think the 1 would be an 11.
Like '09. What if it was 3.7.9. You'd think it was for '09.

Eh, not surprising. For those who are really into Metroid, we already know that Samus has a very human side to her. Remember, she had a very strong attachment to Adam, and she greatly mourned his loss. She just didn't cry about it is all. But it seems we get to actually see Adam this time around, so maybe we'll see how they interacted.

On top of that, playing the other games we come to understand that Samus doesn't like taking orders, and she is very opinionated in her missions. She follows orders until her buttons are pushed, and she'd sacrifice herself and disobey orders in order to save others.

So.... as far as seeing a human side of her goes, I don't think I will be all too impressed. It'll be nice to see body language and facial expressions, though.

@ilu

I was going to say, Malkovich is in this game. But really though, I'm just dieing for a really good side scroller like Other M seems to be. It's a mix of old and new, something fresh and what looks to be satisfying.
