Well I would like to be Samus' Metroid suit but that is not really a character so I have to go with Crono from Chrono Trigger. Granted he does not say anything, but neither does Link, and he pretty much has the same personality as Link in terms of bravery, generosity, and kindness. Plus I do not remember ever seeing Link sacrifice his life for others.

hard choice i htink Link cause in those times it was so laid back and let's face it i have a craving for slashing people with swords. but he does walk in a very large shadow. he comes from a long line of heroes.
