Default Future of Nintendo

Written by me

In the lastest issue of Famitsu, a popular Japanese gaming magazine the one infact that leaked some of the brawl character roster, there was an interview with Mr. Shigeru Miyamoto. He confirmed the development of both Mario and Zelda sequels. Well, he didn’t exactly confirm them, I mean they are definitely confirmed for development but no specifics have been given. In the interview with Shigeru Miyamoto, you know the guy that makes all the Zelda and Mario games, he talked about the future of Nintendo, or at least he hinted at it.

Quote:
I don't directly ask our customers, but I do think about what they'd want from my perspective as a regular person, and my work stems from there. From that perspective, I think we need more 'clutch' games like that.
-“clutch” games are the intuitive, unique and newer generation of nintendo’s franchises. In other words the Wii game series such as; wii music, wii sports and so on.

but also the need to continue pursuing high-profile franchises like your Marios and Zeldas, sequels to both of which are still in development. I think we'll be able to make a variety of interesting announcements this year.
That’s a relief to most of us knowing that some of Nintendo’s biggest franchises are in development. Also, he stated that there will be many interesting “announcements” this year. Could he be referring to E3?

Quote:
so I'd like to find a way to communicate the fun of games past to a wider range of people. Those are the two sides to Nintendo's business.
We have heard this before from Miyamoto, it created a lot of internet drama as he said he wanted to “broaden the range of players and make Zelda games more accessible to casual gamers. Let’s hope the sequels we are, most definitely, anxiously waiting for release the way we expect them to be.

...but we don't want casual, or Miyamoto's perspective of casual. Nintendo needs to step it up more but in a good way, especially their online. =o

Uh-oh. I smell angry fanboys on the horizon. One of them being me. Grr.

But seriously, Zelda is one franchise that shouldn't go casual. Dialing down the difficulty, for example, will eliminate the sheer satisfaction when solving the puzzle that has teased you for hours (days in my case). They tried to make Mario more casual with Galaxy and that ended up being painfully easy; I'd beaten Bowser within a week and was playing as Luigi a week after that. Not a patch on SM64. But it's early days, so we'll see what happens.

I say Nintendo needs to release games that are actually good. Ds games have been going well in my opinion. BUT, the Wii, not so much. It has so much potential, but Nintendo is not taking advantage of it. I mean, I got bored with MKWII. The only fun thing is WiFi, and I dont get reception where I am.

When I saw the title I knew Kr!sp posted this lol. Looks like someone's been looking around friendcodes...cough (Kr!sp) cough...jk.

Back to the piont, Nintendo has "casualized" everything else, why not Zelda? I feel like a parent, looking at Nintendo with it's nooby rainbow mohawk and piercings, praying, "Please let it just be a phase!"

Why doesn't Nintendo make a Mario Kart game with many different Nintendo chars and not just Mario chars. It would be an interesting idea but then again it would practically be like a Smash Bros racing game, though the thought of driving a motorcycle with D3 sounds nice. =)

Lets hope the game will be a "hardcore shooter". I'm actually kinda looking foward this game. It comes out June so hopefully its as good as it looks(not talking about graphics).
