Tired of hopping online and getting your butt kicked by people everyday? I know I did, and now I am going to help the few and the proud that are willing to admit this happens to them.
Each day I will update this thread, with daily words to live by while playing Brawl, and also give you good fighting styles with those hard to master characters. Tips: 1) Reaction time is crucial in Brawl. If you lack good reaction time I advise you to look into training. Training gives you the opportunity to increase or lower the speed of play, which is a good way to get better at Brawl. Increasing the speed to 1.5 can effectively turn your performance around and give you the upper hand in an online battle, since lag is a main problem with online play. 2) Make sure to keep repetition to a minimal. If you find yourself relying on one move to win a match, maybe you should try practicing amongst yourself and learn new moves. This will keep you from earning the title "Spam-master." 3) When facing a move spammer, try finding ways around the continous attack until there is a sign of relief. A good trait in Brawl is finding your opponents weak points early in the match. Be sure that you always keep a keen eye on your opponents most used attacks, and work around them to be victorious against them. 4) Learning different characters is a good insurance against most online players. Live players usually have two mains, and if you only have the skills to play with one character the chances of that one having the upper edge against both rival mains is slim to none. Mastering more than one character will also keep you from repetitively pressing the same button for the same character. 5) Bubbleroll = Perfection. Everyone that has been a conrete veteran of Smash Brothers will tell you that Bubblerolling is the key factor of being victorious in a match. If there is no "Pep in your step", then you will find yourself losing matches left and right. Try learning how to master your bubble roll by entering training, practicing with a friend, or battle a level nine Lucario. :P Last edited by IchiBoss; 06-18-2008 at 01:22 PM |

I created this title.
When I fight I try not to spam...but sometimes it really calls for it when you can't seem to land any other attack. For example...Zelda's priority is ridiculous...so when I'm playing Ike and I can't seem to land any tilt/smash attacks because she either counters or out-prioritizes my attack...I end up using Ike's forward aerial a lot since it has good reach and doesn't leave me way open like his other attacks.
Man...Ike is great...I almost won a 1vs2 match today against two human players. It was Ike vs Marth&Pikachu. Ike has to be one of the top dogs. I think they were holding back though, because the match was a mistake to begin with. |
