Here's what I think, not that anybody cares

I think Knuckles,Tails, or Shadow will make an appearance because Sonic is the only character from a series that sports many, many characters. I also do not think Jigglypuff or Mewtwo will make appearances because of the 2 Pokemon characters included already. If any more Pokemon appear, I think they would be from the newest series, Diamond and Pearl. Also, Luigi isn't for sure yet because he hasn't been confirmed, but it is almost certain he will be in the game in one way or another.
