It is only when he sees his toys again (ganondorf, fighting tabuu) that he tries again, but is quickly put down. We never see Master Hand ever get back up, so the child is "dead" and has grown up. But still the toys persist and restore their world despite the Parent's effort. So the world is back to normal, but the child is no longer there to play with them. they now sit on the shelf collecting dust. kinda sad
