I think it is a great step for the series as it seems to have a very large fan base. The recent Nintendo Power said that it has a confirmed release for Japan but not yet a release for America. However, I think by putting Fire Emblem characters in SSBB they were gaining popularity for the game, and they would be turning down profits by not releasing this game in America.
