what does rob stand for?

R.O.B. = Robotic Operating Buddy in America at least. In Japan it was simply the Famicom Robot.


what is he from?

Nothing. He's just a lil Robot Buddy that could play a game or two, or something like that. Gyromite and Stack-up are those games actually. But I guess you could say he is from a lab or where ever things like this are created. xD

how was he different from the other robots?

There were other robots? lulz xD Basically it is just a simple machine that played pointless games that you had to kinda interact with. It was different for it's time you could say.
