When perceiving faults in others, it is very beneficial to think of what we can learn from just observing without comment, and to think of what may be causing others to act in such a manner. This way the wrong actions and speech of others can act as a constant source of wisdom, and not just something else for us to complain about. From this manner of thinking we can learn about how to correct our own faults, and learn to generate compassion for others. We never know what misfortune someone may have experienced to cause them to behave in a certain way.
