Night Sky Tears

I gaze up sadly at the night sky,
By myself, surrounded in silence,
As I try to make myself believe the lie,
That you were never there.

My lips form the sound of your name,
A tear slips and runs down my cheek,
But I know I don't wish things to be the same,
What does it matter for one girl to be in pain?

The breeze caresses my skin,
I will it to take my heartache with it,
The moonlight casts a shadow within,
What's left for me in this lonely world?

The night grows cold as time goes by,
My skin aches for the warmth of your arms,
The silence stretches on, I sigh,
I wish you were still here with me.

I close my eyes and think of you,
Your voice, your face, your words,
All the things we've been through,
And my heart faces the painful truth.

After all the arguments and all the fights,
I'm still in love with you,
I realize this on this clear blue night,
And a smile crosses my face.
