I have an opponent for SSBB who will always use Toon Link, i mean ALWAYS. I usually play as sonic, meta knight, or Olimar. I cannot seem to beat him, maybe 1/4 ill beat him but thats it! What characters should i be using or do i just flat out suck?

Well I can beat a level 9 toon link with multiple characters. Maybe you should train more and learn some new tactics or something.

i think you should try out marth. He is pretty fast and he has a good counter attack.

I played him again today, we went 50/50 and I was using meta knight, illl give marth a shot too.

I would suggest trying to do boss runs to make sure you know how to effectively use your dodge techniques such as sidestepping and air dodging. Keep in mind that toon link is indeed a clone of link with the exception of a few standard moves, but he is much faster. His standard attack and up and forward smashes are fast. Plus if you get under him his d-air is alot faster than TP Link's, plus he has alot more air control and can spike you upwards of 3 times if he knows what he's doing. What I've found is that training for a good link-user opponent usually leads me to try and out melee him. Toon link's range is minuscule, but his speed more than makes up for it. I apologize for being so long winded, but on a final note, I wouldn't suggest trying to find a "better" character, just watch your buddies technique and try and out-wit him. Definitely practice your dodging though. If he can't hit you, he can't beat you. Happy gaming!

same problem i couldn't beat him to unlock him. took 4 tries then i beat him with marth so train and watch his moves and try to counter them
