Mario Kart Wii

Welcome to the Mario Kart Wii preview/review!

Console: Wii
ESRB Rating: E
Players: 1-4, 1-12(WiFi)
Online play?: Yes

Since the SNES days Mario Kart has been a classic known racing game that continues to capture players all around the globe, and new versions of the kart-racer have come out for every console after it. Nintendo's classic racer has finally made it to the Wii, the question is: Is it any good?

Game Play:
As always Mario Kart is the hectic version of any racing game that you have ever played, and this one is even more hectic! With new items and new stages, you are being thrown everywhere possible! As always Grand Prix makes it into this version, but a let down is that there is no Co-op Grand Prix. In the Grand Prix is the following cups: Mushroom, Flower, Star, and Special Cup. Then from the DS version is the Retro Cups: Shell, Banana, Leaf, and Lightning Cup. There are 16 all new stages, and 16 retro stages which makes for a great variety in this hectic racing game. A new addition to this game is the Bikes, they do make for a difference in the look for the game, but I have not felt any big difference with the Bikes, but they do look pretty sweet.
Multiplayer of course is back with VS. Mode, and Battle Mode. Multiplayer is now more customizable then ever before. You can now edit a lot of the rules for your VS. mode such as the speed(50cc,100cc,150cc) what difficulty the CPUs are on, what vehicles should be allowed(Karts, Bikes, or both) and a bunch of other options.
Of course there is WiFi, and it's better than ever. WiFi can be played with up to 12 other people, and it's fun as heck. WiFi also has a ranking system based on points, which you start out with 5000 points and every race you win adds onto those. For more info on WiFi, head over to the WiiUsers.net Podcast!
You want Mario Kart? Well this is all the stuff Mario Kart lovers love with a lot of new things.

Graphics:
Graphics are honestly just a really polished version of Double Dash. I really don't feel that they put too much effort into it. When you look at other games such as Brawl, or even Galaxy you see a lot of effort put into making the game look great. You will have some wow moments in this game with it's graphics but the graphics really feel like a double dash clone.

Sound:
As always classic Mario Tunes are brought in this game and remade to fit the stages you play on, there really isn't much new things to the sound as it's just like every other Mario Kart game, pretty awesome! Retro stages have also had a few tweaks in the music so look forward to that.

Replay Value:
Mario Kart could never go wrong with Replay Value, which is the same case for this game! WiFi is a big part in this as it adds a lot of fun to this game, and it really never gets old. You have Ghost Trials, and competitions sent to you by Nintendo and you compete to be the best! Replay Value is the center of Mario Kart and this one doesn't screw it up.

Conclusion:
Mario Kart has come back better than ever, and there really isn't too much to complain about. It would have been nice for Nintendo to up their Graphics, and to put Co-op Grand Prix back in but oh well, there is a lot of other things to look forward to in this Kart Racer! As always Mario Kart has made it to Nintendo's new console, and it's pretty dang awesome!

I'm just glad that you can use Gamecube controllers. Not that I'm going to use them (I'm using the Wii Wheel) it's just that I only have 2 Wiimotes. Good review by the way.

I'm very relieved that it's a great game. I was getting worried it wouldn't be so great. But my fears are gone now!

To tell you guys the truth, the smash bros series isn't my favorite series. MARIO KART is. All their games are AMAZING! And i've been wanting this game WAY more than brawl, and im prolly gonna be playing this game WAY WAY WAY more than i play brawl.
