Well for one Wario is pretty bad and how can you not make your tier based on how you feel each character is on the game. Granted I am not the best player but for me I play the best with the guys on my top tier...and yes even Olimar.

wario kinda sucks. But he has an UBER jump. You use your two jumps, get on motorcyle, jump off, use fully charged fart, and then up B.

You go CRAZY far and high. lol.

I based my list on how good I am with the characters. And how well there moves are against everyone. Really this only is good for me. But it just says who I'm good with and who I'm not :P

High:
Pikachu (great recovery, wide variety of attacks)
Pit (great recovery, very balanced player)
Zelda/Sheik (Switching between the two is time consuming, but doing so effectively is deadly)
G&W (if you don't just spam his Side-B)
Luigi (Extremely balanced, has KO ability unlike Mario)

Medium:
Link (To slow to be top)
Kirby (Little vaiety in attacks)
Fox (UP-B is too slow to KO)
Samus/ZSS (Samus too slow, ZSS too weak)
Yoshi (just because people don't understand how great his aerials are)
Ike (spammers delight)
Pokemon Trainer (great survival character for timed matches)
Diddy (weak, but good combo with his tail)
Metaknight (just because basically impossible to KO with him)
Snake (good recovery, but some attacks seem useless)
Lucas (Meh)
Dedede (good range, but also pretty predictable)
Olimar (no pikmin=no chance)
Sonic (Good recovery, and I like his side smash)
Marth (Quick, but little diversity in attacks)
Jiggly (2 or 3 risky and strong attacks, but makes up for it with good recovery)
Capt. Falcon (Too easy to dodge "FALCON PUNCH!")
Falco (Same as Fox)
Wolf (Same as Fox)
ROB (Unusual style, unpredictable)

Low:
Mario (What were they thinking?)
Wario (Bike doesn't do enough damage, slow movement)
Bowser (wow, all his attacks are grabs that slam people, duh, figure it out)
Donkey Kong (Quite honestly, I hate getting a smash ball with him)
Peach (Only 2 KO moves, her glide isn't good IMO for recovery)
Ice Climbers (To easy to seperate, and once that happens, its over)
Ness (Lucas W/O a bat to KO)
Ganon (Too slow, and his attacts are predictable)
Lucario (I know he gets stronger when he gets more damage, but he also has sub-par recovery)

Now, don't kill me if I put your character in low, just my opinion. Most characters I play as are in Medium tier.

Got that off of the Smash Wiki Site. And that bolded part is true, those top characters get to develop an advanced play of gaming because they get played more and people discover more tactics they can use with those characters. Noobs see that they always get owned by those characters so instead of following up and trying to come up with new strategies and tactics for thier original favorites they just end up playing with only the top characters.

I just wanted to point out that they have a point, the only thing I can say that will likely happen is that people will choose only the best characters at the top of the list.

Tier 1: Fox, Marth, Meta Knight

Tier 2: Diddy Kong, Ike*, King Dedede*, R.O.B., Sheik, Toon Link, Zelda*

Tier 3: Falco, Kirby, Lucario, Lucas, Mario, Mr. Game & Watch*, Pit*, Pokemon Trainer, Samus*, Wolf, Zero-Suit Samus*

Tier 4: Captain Falcon, Ice Climbers*, Jigglypuff, Link, Luigi*, Ness*, Peach, Snake*, Sonic*

Tier 5: Bowser, Donkey Kong, Gannondorf

(* = Most likely to change as more time is put into it)
