Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles


This is my first review ever and the most I have typed in quite some time, I hope you enjoy it. This is one of the few Resident Evil games that have been released on the Nintendo Wii and in my opinion, more then just one game.


Gameplay

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles is a "on rails" first person shooter, just like House of The Dead on the arcade and if you have played House of The Dead you should enjoy Resident Evil: UC. The game is basically point and shoot and you are able to use the Wiimote and nunchuk which allows for more of an arcade experience, I have heard from others that the Wii Zapper is put to great use in this game although I myself have not used it so I do not recommend it. This game has a lot of unlockables and my hours of gameplay which should keep you occupied, over ten stages, secret stages, upgradable weapons, all of this should keep you very busy. 5/5


Graphics

The graphics in Resident Evil: UC are great, also very gory so this game is for a mature audience. The lighting in the game is very dark which makes it more spooky as your forced to keep going through the levels. Some of the cut scenes are interactive which allows you to be on the edge of your seat but as for the not interactive cut scenes the character models ex; faces and movement, is done quite well but as good as Resident Evil 4 also on the Wii. 4/5


Sound

There is lots of voice over and many monsters with very spooky noises and sounds. Gun shots and using the knife sound very realistic as the most of the environment. As for music, classic RE music with some new remixes. 4/5

Replay Value

This Resident Evil allows for co-op play for up to two players at one time, both players will have fun going through levels and bosses but this also makes the game play easier. Secret levels and a good variety of upgrade able weapons gives you many hours of fun with one or two players. 5/5

Overall

Overall this game this game earns a 4/5. Wi-fi would have been a nice add on to this game but other then that there are very little problems with this game and it should keep you very entertained for quite a good amount of hours

great job, i was all siked for this game to come out untill i found out you cant move on your own... it was a while ago, but i was hoping for a game like RE4! I just wish the game play was the same.

Thanks dude. I know what you mean about this game but in its own ways its very good. Seeing as you like RE4 then I heard that Capcom is remaking RE0 for the Wii with the same gameplay as RE4.

i thought RE4 definatly had the best gameplay, but i wanna see if zero has a better story with this gameplay... (i mean better than 4)
i realy wasnt all into the other games because i didnt like their fixed camera 3rd person views. As for the RE series i consider them one of the best!

i kinda like how they went with the arcade shooter. im just waiting for it to drop 10-20 dollars. re4 was awsome. there were so many times when i crapped my pants. like when you were the girl (alex?) and you had to get an item by yourself but then these armored knight figures came up and killed me. also i like when your in a barn and you have to hold off an invasion.
