Time Hollow

For those of you who like interesting stories or mysteries, look no further than Time Hollow for the Nintendo DS. The basic story is you are playing as Ethan Kairos, who lost his parents mysteriously the day he turned 17 and all his knowledge of his life changed. Later he gets the Hollow Pen which allows him to create holes in time so he can interact with it a certain point. Thats the basic story but not to be a spoiler let me add some more comments; the story is linear but branches off and you have to solve those problems to return to the linear story( I know, confusing). Don't be discouraged though, the story is actually utterly brilliant!!(my bias of course) I really enjoyed the story, I mean come on, its a point and click type of game so the story is the most important(like Phoenix Wright). Yet in the end, there is a satisfying conclusion. Gameplay 7/10 Being a point and click mystery, its hard to have a extremely good gameplay. It can be very tedious to go from one place to another but the story will keep you hooked that you won't stop playing( for a while) Story 10/10 Utterly Brilliant!!! This is my biased opinion but I think the story was fantastic (even though the ending loops, you'll see what I mean if you play it). The characters in the story are well-developed and changes as you continue the story as you change their faiths, until ultimately you solve the problem of where do your parents go?? Music 6/10 Anime Opener 10/10 Why these two things? Well to be honest, the music in the game is only a few songs and they keep playing over and over again, which is very annoying, but the anime opener of the game is gorgeous and its a great song and animation. I actually have the opener song on my ipod set to loop it over and over again till I'm sick of it.(I like it that much!!) Visuals/Graphics 8/10 The graphics in the game are recycled over and over again but the they're hand drawn in modern anime/manga style. There are a few anime cutscenes which are nearly breath-taking as they mix with the story to give you a rush of emotion. Also there are voice actors, and guess what! I actually like their voices unlike many of the english voice acting in anime, but it would be cool to have Japanese voice with English subtitles. So why a 8/10 for graphics if the sprites are so bland? Because the anime cutscenes are smooth and professional looking. (I believe a famous mangaka helped drew it, but I'm not sure about the name or the manga they drew) Replayability 7/10 The story is divided into about 8 sections, although I won't spoil it to you guys. To me the story is worth playing twice through as you'll understand more of the story and characters better. Also there is a secret ending that you can get if you beat the game once(although its not as heart felt as the first ending). Overall 9/10 (not an average) This is in my opinion. The story alone captured me to this game(and the anime opener and song, I'm still listening to it on my ipod, ha ha ha) and still does as I'm still playing it. I recommend you rent the game first(if you can) because it took me about 6-9 hours to beat it, but I'm still playing it again since I feel that the story isn't over yet(you'll know why if you beat it). Personally this is now in my best games collection and if you excuse me, I have to play a bit of Time Hollow. Thanks For reading! That guy with the weird name -Bank-
