In the 1000th issue of Famitsu Magazine, a gaming magazine, Shigeru Miyamoto was interviewed. Miyamoto gave out interesting details of future plans and titles for the Nintendo Wii and DS.
Shigeru Miyamoto first talked about the Wii Balance Board and WiiFit. He said
"Wii Fit has been quite the success story for Nintendo so far." He also stated that if it sells as well in North America, then we will see games made by Nintendo that will specifically support the Wii Balance Board. There is already a game that is being released tomorrow in Japan that will use the Wii Balance Board. The game is called Bandai Namco's Family Ski.
Famitsu Magazine asked Miyamoto about any sequels. Miyamoto said that he is very interested in making a sequel for Super Mario Galaxy. He is already today thinking about the next Zelda game.
Shigeru Miyamoto talked about what we will see in the future of the DS. What games we will see, and what the DS can be used for? He said that Nintendo plans to make something for the DS with which you'll be able to do a number of interesting things in public spaces. He wouldn't share anymore information. He also shared a vision of Nintendo supporting DS owners by setting up servers to create a play environment that's shared between the home and outdoors.
What will we see this year by Nintendo? Who knows? Nintendo is very smart and unique for making new titles and functions for their systems. Could Miyamoto be hinting on a new DS? Hopefully. But all I can say is that we can expect a lot from Nintendo this year!
