Nintendo claims it has sold its 100,000th Wii console in Australia, making it the fastest selling home console our nation has ever seen. The company had this to say in its press statement:

“We are pleased that Wii has achieved this benchmark, but we are ecstatic that it attained this whilst also reaching new audiences and expanding the scope of our entire industry,” explains Rose Lappin, Director of Sales and Marketing. “We promised we would bring gaming to the masses, I think this is proof that we are heading in the right direction.”

I think you're heading in the right direction too, Rose. Nintendo can hold its head high with the ‘Fastest Selling Console’ title, and at the rate it is gaining on the Xbox 360’s figure of around 180,000 units, it seems inevitable that it will also take the ‘largest user-base’ honours. Could this be one of the best consoles ever? I think so!!!

There are seven primary channels: the Disc Channel, Mii Channel, Photo Channel, Wii Shop Channel, Forecast Channel News Channel and the internet channel:

*Forecast Channel- Planning an outdoor adventure with family and friends, but you're worried that it's going to rain? Now you don't have to wait for the weather report on TV because you can just use your Nintendo Wii.

*Wii Shop Channel- Here you can download new channels and bonus features for your wii just by using wii points!

*Disc Channel- Now who could forget this channel? After all, it is the channel you use to play your Nintendo Wii games!
