After weeks of speculation, a blog called Go Nintendo released box art scans of Assasin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles. Although it has not yet been announced, it makes an appearance on Nintendo's 2008 game line up, and on retail sites. The game is said to be a prequel to the smash hit XBOX 360 and PS3 game, and will probably be released in 2008.Players can pick pocket people and "interrogate informers" using the stylus. The game is being developed by Gameloft, a company who developed a mobile version of Assasin's Creed last year and published by UbiSoft. Gameloft is mainly a mobile game developer though, so how their new task will turn out is a mystery, given their very light experience with the console. The news of this release proves that the DS can handle big name releases fom other companies than Nintendo, and will surely pave the way for other games to follow, especially if it sells well, which it should because most handheld gamers own a DS over a PSP, or both, and the console version of Assain;s Creed sold wel. The comments sections of blogs and sites everywhere were buzzing with news and speculation, including some complaining that the game is not and probably will not be on PSP and that it should be because of the graphics. I think the graphics look just fine, however. More info if it comes.
