Nintendo Announces Pay To Play Program
IchiBoss
02-24-2008
As of now, Playstation and Nintendo are the only two companies that are allowing free online play, but not for long.

Nintendo's Takashi Aoyama announced that they will be starting a "Pay To Play Program" which is pretty self explanatory. Games that have NWFC and are out now will not be affected by this, but games to come will soon...

Lol, well hopefully like Jules and I said, it will only be for MMORPGs, and not Games like Brawl and MKwii.

We will just have to see...

Well again like I said before, Brawl will not be a pay to play game. Think about it, Japan has had the game for nearly a month now and it is free for them to play, Nintendo is not going to make one region pay while others play for free. Brawl will be free, and most likely Mario Kart Wii.

If it's only for MMORPGs than that's great! I mean if ACWii is coming out then I'll only pay for that.

Like I said, it will or in any way cannot affect Brawl.

Japan alreayd have Brawl, so to make it affect us would be illegal, and not to mention unorthodox to say the least.

Dont worry, the idea sounds bad, but it will work out.

This is very disappointing in my eyes... The only reason I don't own an Xbox 360 is because Xbox live costs money.. And now we have to pay to play on the wii... I'm very disappointed in Nintendo's decision to do this and I feel this may hurt the wii's growth in the long run...

it may but just think about it:

Nintendo said that the Wifi Network will still be free, but some games to soon to be released may have other licensed names and may have to charge.

I do not think it will be any Official Nintendo Licensed game but we will have to see...
