A Hard Drive Could Come to Wii

According to VC-Reviews, a hard drive could be coming to the Wii. In a recent press release Nintendo had this to say:

Q6 I am personally enjoying WiiWare and Virtual Console but feel Wii’s flash memory size is not enough and annoyed that I need to use a SD memory card. Will this situation be improved?

A6 Iwata: Statistically speaking, it is true that there are a small number of customers who feel that the flash memory is too small, while many others find that they have plenty of memory. However, because this small number of people are none other than the most avid players, we know we have to review the best possible solution to eliminate their inconvenience.

So things are looking up for those of you who are running out of space on your Wiis. Of course, this doesn't confirm anything, but it shows the good folks at Nintendo have been hearing what people have had to say, and hopefully they wil lcome up with a cost-effective solution and end the space drought. We'll just have to wait and see what they come up with.

Memory

It's good to hear news like this. As on of the "avid" players, I do feel that the Wii is lacking in the power of memory capacity. I dealt with the fact that my PSP needed a memory card, but for my Wii... it just seems ridiculous. A breakthrough system like the Wii should be a beast when it comes to all aspects of the gaming interface. So, good news at this point.

Lmao, How would you install it to your wii tho?
Its like a computer, cant just shove somthing in and hope it works.
And if they do come out with it and a install for it, Where will it go? Do they want you to take apart your wii and put it in!? xD xD xD

Maybe some way to connect it through the USB port on the back? I don't know, but that could be very prone to cables being pulled out and memory being lost.

wow

well i really need a hard drive or something cause i just had to delete
games from my wii cause i had almost no space left, but yeah it would
have to use the USB ports in the back of the Wii cause where else would it
go? unless... they make a bigger model of the Wii with a hard drive... then
they could put other stuff in it maybe?

Yeah same here. I just got my Wii back and had to re-download VC games, only to find that with the Nintendo Channel in the mix, I just don't have room for some VC Games. It was hard, but I chose some I could do without for now, but if the Wii had a hard drive, I wouldn't need to worry about that.
