Nintendo has had an amazing run in the new systems war with rivals Sony and Microsoft, and such a run deserves a little bit of the limelight. As they go into the new year, they have promised many things for us such as Brawl, and a lot more Wiis for the everyday buyer.

Even though the shipment of Wiis were short in '07, the sales for the Nintendo Wii are amazingly high, and also for the Ds. These numbers surpassed those that anyone ever thought it would get to. The sales for the Nintendo Ds and Wii are as follows:

Ds Hardware is at 64.79 million worldwide
North/South America: 20.18 million
Japan: 21.66 million
Elsewhere: 22.94 million

Wii Hardware is at 20.13 million worldwide
North/South America: 8.85 million
Japan: 4.99 million
Elsewhere: 6.30 million

These numbers are incredible, and with releases like Brawl and Mario Kart Wii, The numbers will continue to rise as the year progresses.
