Mario Kart Wii to include voice chat?

In the Official European Press Release, something very interesting popped up. It states that you will be able to talk to your friends before races. Either it's with a headset or just texting. We don't know. Here is part of the official press release:

“In addition to all this a new Wii Channel, the Mario Kart Channel, will also be launched with Mario Kart Wii. Players will be able to monitor their ranking against others with data compiled from races completed online as well as also access and share Ghost Data to download. Why not see if your friends are playing by checking their status or even better still set up a room in which you can chat to them before a race starts? Players even have the possibility to join in on their friends races in progress as a spectator and jump into the race when the next course launches. Through this channel, users will be exposed to a host of new online features allowing them to join a community of racing fans from all over the world as well as participate in special worldwide events organized by Nintendo.”

Could we be getting a headset for the Nintendo Wii? Or is that we can only type to our friends, like for taunts in Super Smash Bros. Brawl? I believe that it is just text messaging. But I could be wrong. I would be really happy for Nintendo to bring a headset to the Wii, so I can show my anger against someone across the world.

What do you guys think?

It's great that this might happen (don't know if it will)
A worst thing about it is 'those type of idiots' will be on at night, and since most of us have school and Home work.We will only be able to play around night with 'those type of idiots'
Think of it as X-box Live at night, those retarded idiots are on.It's hurts to hear "You suck, you ******", and so on.I'll probably get it, when a friend could say, it's worth getting, Nintendo wasn't stupid about this. I hope they think over that idea, or put something bad on it about 'mean' talk. Most likely I'm not going to be getting it, I find it to be troubling. ;/

I agree with Toxic, I remember when I had the PS2 and had Jak X: Extreme Racing and that is all you had at night was kids and adults who would do nothing but curse and boost about how great (most of the time they were terrible) and it was annoying. I have no problem with smack talk and everything but it should consist of more then just swearing and screaming. I have seen something about chatting in Mario Kart, but what scares me is that it will be something like in SSBB where you use pre-made text messages or type messages. It would be great to have voice chat in Mario Kart but I think I would prefer it in SSBB.

I would honestly like it in brawl better, because if talking to friends, they could help teach you and i don't think brawl would be as bad, because some people would be like "Nice combo" and things like that. I wouldn't only be swearing and screaming, thats for sure.

hmmm

I would like it in both games...cause truth be told...your going to find "those type of idiots" in every game dealing with online chat...you cant doge them...so all you can do is make sure you beat them to make them more angry...plus there is always the weekends where you can play during the day...and summer vacation, winter holidays...so im all for it

Yoshi Wii Headset FTW!!!!

This would be a FANTASTIC feature
I would love it to be released imagine using this in Brawl it would just make the game greater then what it already is.
Adding this to the Mario Kart Wii Would also be a great move it brings what the DS had to offer on to the Nintendo Wii
In my opinion if this works out with the Wii Headset it could change Nintendo Gaming in General
