The End of Snaking?

If you are a snaker, and you wanted there to be snaking on Mario Kart Wii, then you may be displeased. Nintendo has ended the stunt. In Mario Kart Wii, they made it so that you cannot snake. The results of turbo boosting are settled by how long you hold a powerslide. However in previous games, it was how quickly you could move them from left to right. In my opinion, this is not considered cheating, but it does annoy players. Here is the British Official Nintendo mag's review:

The second big difference (in Mario Kart Wii compared to the rest of the series) is the removal of snaking. Ever since the N64 game, practically every Mario Kart game has included the ability to get a speed boost by waggling the controls left and right as you powerslide. This has finally been scrapped, and now your speed boost is determined by how long you can hold the slide.

This also means you can't do multi-turbo boosts on turns =[

I really like this, snaking is cheating. I really do not care to hear any snakers arguments because it is no different then using Action Replay. I refuse to play any snaker as it takes all skill and fun from the game. Yes you need skill to be a snaker (and I have been able to do it) but the real skill of the game is to know when to use your items and which characters work best with you.

I'm really glad they took it out. I was good at snaking but i really enjoyed playing people that didnt do it. It made the game more enjoyable and relied on you being able to dodge items, lol. Also, please don't put rob in the new game. Everyone used him and drybones in the drybomber. Don't worry though YoshiKing in the Egg Cart made sure they didnt win, lol. Go me and fellow Yoshi fans.

Meh, doesn't bother me. Sure I'd snake every now and again against other snakers but the game will be alot more fair for everybody this way.
