Wii Fit Is A Gimmick, Says Microsoft Executive David Gosen.

Apparently, Microsoft executive David Gosen believes that Wii Fit is a gimmick. The irony is, this David Gosen, who at one point in life worked at Nintendo, is now attempting to call Nintendo's most recent game, which introduced a revolutionary peripheral a, "Gimmick". I wonder if he would be saying this if he was still working with Nintendo...? Methinks this statement is biased.

"We've seen some research that says 60 per cent of people who bought a Wii Fit play it once and don't play it again."

According to the research conducted by Gosen, sixty per cent of people who purchased Wii Fit play the game once. From then on, Wii Fit's job will be to collect dust. Here's what else Gosen had to say: "What Nintendo have done with the Wii is truly fantastic - there is no question about it. But I think sometimes there is a thin line between gimmick and great gameplay."

Gosen then proceeded to rant about the Xbox 360's upcoming singing game, "Lips".

You can't compare Wii Fit to an actual work out, if you do it right that is. About Wii Fit being a gimmick, well its true ain't it. ;D Pay $100 and get something for a chubby kid that won't go outside.

What he said may be true, but we'll, let him say what he wants, and let Wii Fit sales say what they want.

Microsoft is always full of crap when it comes to comments on Nintendo. I'm sure some Xbox games are the same thing. And those 60% of people who only play Wii Fit once have no commetment to getting and staying healthy.

I'll say this now Wii Fit is NOT a gimick. It was DESIGNED to balance it with a real life work out and eating right. Combine those three elements and it's a sure way to lose weight. It wasn't meant to be an exercise machine. And it works because you do get a work out, plus it teaches you valuable Yoga moves.

That is something Microsoft does not understand.
