Does anyone remember the title that was announced long before the Wii was even released? Disaster: Day of Crisis? I thought not. Details on this survival title have been kept very well hidden from us... Some even questioned if Nintendo had forgotten about it, or scrapped the project entirely. Until now. Nintendo has officially confirmed that the long awaited Disaster: Day of Crisis will be hitting European shelves October 24th! Perhaps an American release date will be revealed at some point...? Maybe a Canadian release date...?
The player will play through Disaster: Day of Crisis as Raymond Bryce, a former United States Marine, whom the Government has called back. Raymond will have to survive natural disasters, environmental hazards and the like, but that's not all... Raymond must take down a terrorist organization that plans to take control of a rather large supply of nuclear weaponry. And after it is revealed that Raymond's friend's sister has been captured by the terrorists... Things get a whole lot different. Sound's like Raymond is living a fairly normal life, doesn't it? The game's story will take place and unfold over a time span of twenty four hours, with twenty three stages.
Rescuing citizens is also a large part of this title, as rescuing citizens raises Raymond's survival expertise. The more survival expertise you have, the harder areas you can attempt to defeat.
Monolith Soft guarantees it's fans that the title will make great use of the Wii Remote, what with shooting, driving, and more (Or so they say). Did I forget to mention shooting?
