In a recent
IGN: Interview: Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America vice president Cammie Dunaway divulged some details about Wii Speak and Animal Crossing: Let's Go To The City, the newly announced Club Nintendo service in America, the Wii-made GameCube titles and the new DSi.
In the great spirit of the love we gamers called Nintendo, Dunaway talked about some major things such as the new DSI that should be released next year, the newly announced North American Club Nintendo Service and Wii Music, but didn't release any new details. She did re-itify that the Pikmin title Shigeru Miyamoto was talking about earlier this year was in fact a new Pikmin title, and not the GameCube title being Wii-made for the Wii.
Talking about the pricing for the Animal Crossing WiiSpeak bundle, Dunaway said: "We are going to do a limited edition bundle with Animal Crossing that will run for $59.99 [US] and will come out on the 16th [of November] as well." This means that the Wii Speak microphone and Animal Crossing can be bought seperately. The WiiSpeak peripheral is expected to be priced at US$29.99, which is approximately AU$38.
Also on this subjest Dunaway has said some valuable information on the Wii Speak Channel which is...

Also in this interview Dunaway has said some important information on the DSI coming to the US which is
..."The strategy for us is really to keep focusing on the DS for the holiday and for the first part of next year because there's still so much potential. The fact that this many years into the life cycle, the business is up 22 percent year-to-date and 35 percent in August and with things like the new celebrity campaign that we've launched this year, we're bringing in lots of females 18-35 that haven't owned a DS in the past and still bringing in lots of older people with titles like Brain Age. Our strategy is to stay focused on DS and then launch DSi sometime in the next fiscal."
Plus also IGN asks,
"Why is the display for the American DS so much different than the Japanese DS?"
Dunaway responds by..."Yeah, it's actually pretty simple. It's looking at penetration rates. So if you look at Japan, one out of every two households owns a DS. If you look here in the U.S., it's one out of every five households and our current growth rates for DS are significantly higher than the growth rates in Japan. There's still just a lot of potential here.
