This should be no surprise to anyone who subscribes to Nintendo Power or someone who is a big fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, but there is a new DS game featuring the blue blur that will come out later this year. However, there is a catch. It is not your typical Sonic game, it is a RPG. The game is being developed by Sega and Bioware, famous for their Knights of the Old Republic games.

I am really excited about this game for two reasons. First of all, I am a big fan of not just Sonic the Hedgehog but of also RPGs. Secondly, I am also a fan of the work that Bioware has done in the past, KotOR cames are great and the developer has a reputation for producing quality games. It seems weird at first to consider Sonic in an RPG game considering the pace of RPGs are generally slow and Sonic is known for...well speed. But I believe there are times when you have to take a series outside it's box and try something new, especially for the Sonic franchise. What is everyone else's thoughts about this upcoming game?

Sonic has disapointed me with the last few games, I dont think I will be picking this up..

I have actually been thinking that Sonic is getting a little better, I really liked Secret Rings and the two Rush games but you are right, many believe Sonic games have been on the decline since he went to 3-D, especially the disaster that was Sonic the Hedgehog for the 360 and PS3. I think that is one of the reasons Sega is trying to take Sonic in different directions right now to try and bring people back. Unfortunately, I feel that this game is going to be either really great or really disastrous. I believe that it will be great given the people working on it and how different it will be from other Sonic games.

One thing I fear about Sega, is that they are trying to get Sonic out, to fast.

You see mario, we get a new actual 3-D game from Nintendo every year or so, and the sales are great. Galaxy is the greatest game of all time, which I think is a load of crap.

All I think they should do is slow it down, make the Sonic fans pant over it, and build thier anticipation, then release it. Sales will be better, and reviews also.

I really want this game a LOT. Maybe it will be better then that load of crap, Sonic the Hedghog(2006)
