I have been searching the internet for info on this, but can't find anything to support a claim a friend is making about the Wii system. She insists that when playing "No More Heroes", it is being displayed in 1080p. She claims it says it can do 1080p right on the box, so maybe someone with the game can help me out if it is talking about upscaling, or actual true 1080p. She also claims Super Mario Galaxy runs at 1080p on her TV because her TV says so, and when she pops in a DVD the TV says 480p. I am guessing her TV might just be upscaling, but she is positive that is not the case.

I have always thought the Wii was not capable of displaying anything above 480p widescreen, so this would be news to my ears if it can output 1080p, but I have a feeling she is confused, and it is only upscaled to 1080p. I have a 1080p TV so I'd love to be wrong, but I am pretty certain the Wii cannot display 1080p without the help of some upscaling.

Someone please tell me what is going on here!!

I didn't think so, but she is certain she is right. Anyone have any idea what she is talking about though? I don't know why her TV is saying it's in 1080p, or if it really says that on the game box. I'm going to have to check that one out myself
