You can race up to 12 players online. Sometimes it finds less though, but the maximum is 12. People can keep joinging in after races too.
Yes, you can do 2 player splitscreen online, but not 3 or 4. You can do 3 or 4 player splitscreen offline, however.
I think they will still be playing it online because it's Nintendo's most recent big online game, and I don't think there are any more announced as of right now. E3 might change that though.

If you add me on these games and I don't add you, it's not personal. I only add people I'm going to play, if you want me to add you, race/fight me. :D

If no why didnt they make a controller for the wii, for people that might not like remotes.

Do you need lots of friends to have a wii.

Apparently the wii is really hard to play.

I have never had any other Nintendo’s consoles so would all n64 and GameCube games be available through the wii to download.

Also is the internet really bad on the wii.
Alot of games give you the choice of what controller to use, although the WiiMote is not hard to learn or use. The Wii comes with WiiSports for a reason; to help you learn the controls.

As far as having friends to play online... well it depends. Most games allow you to login and hook up with random people to play. I created a chat room that really comes in handy while playing. Knowing the person you are playing with online and having the ability to bash them afterwards is half the fun. But playing online doesn't require you to have friends already added in your list.

If your worried about downloading games through the Virtual Console, you can expect hundreds of games to be readily available with the exception of GameCube games. Also most consoles are supported; NES, SNES, GENESIS, NEOGEO, N64, etc.

Nintendo also released a section in the shop channel called "WiiWare" which allows for the download of 3rd party games and software, such as an Internet Browser, Nintendo Channel (watching game demos and downloading DS games), and various games like Final Fantasy and such.

I like my Wii to a point. It IS hella fun when you have friends over and can be alot of fun if once you start racking up friends to play with. The Wii is a good console to play if you want something different. You can see this because most people own a Wii AND another console (PS3 or 360). It also allows quick pick-up-and-play-games that you can jump right into, which is nice when you got 30min-1hr to kill.

A good place to meet friends is in my chat. There is usually always someone on that is looking to game. You can look forward to meeting prolly 5-10 new people within the first 20min of you logging in. It really helps for people who have problem finding friends who own wii's in real life (like me!).
