It's supposed to be 16 digit friendcodes, I guess it just has not gotten fixed quite yet.

You can also go under Quick Links and to Edit Profile, then scroll down and you'll see a section called Game IDs. Just type your code in the Wii icon, if you post in a thread, it should be in the upper-right corner. There is enough character space to write your code, just to let you know.
