Since switching to 480p Component I've had issues...

Hey,

I recently bought a new HD LCD Television capable of 720p resolution so as I have a Wii I bought myself a Component Cable but ever since I've used it I've had problems.

The main issue is this, when I'm playing a game or browsing the menus my television seems to go black at random intervals and lasts for about 2-3 seconds each time. I know it's not the television itself because my Xbox 360 runs perfectly on it, and the Wii also worked perfectly on it when I used my composite cables.

I've gone into the settings of the Wii and found there are very few I can change, as far as I know the settings are correct but I'm not sure, any help would be appreciated.

TV Type: EDTV / HDTV (480p)

Apart from these two settings I have no idea what could be causing the problem.

I'm pretty sure this is a problem with all Wiis. Nintendo decided to add in 480p at the last second, and they ran into some problem. I'm surprised that it has gone unfixed for so long, but I suggest you call Nintendo and ask them if there is a fix for this problem yet.

I'v had a problem similar to yours, except for black it was spots of purple, I sent it in to Nintendo and they fixed it for free.
