mine's exactly like Jules'. Though I borrowed one once from my friend, and he had gone through them like this: (they all kept failing, even though they were all new) purple, blue, black, platinum. They all broke within the warranty, and after a while, he decided to actually get a PS2, which was way more suitable for him.

Ok true story, I had a purple gamecube until the sixth grade. Heres what happened, during that time, I was a extreme addict and my grades were around the 40's so my mom got mad and smashed it with a hammer, well and my gameboy advance. I spent a year and a half without any games after that until my grades were top notch and I convinved my mom that I could handle my gaming addiction. Eventually I managed to get a ds and a wii.

I had a purple one, which stopped reading the disks, which got replaced by another purple one with the same problem, so I bought a black one and I still have both the purple and the black one.
