Well guys, you know that I got a job at Gamestop, if not, shame on You!!

Well back to my point. I overheard my Manager and this guy that ships the new advertising posters and they said that Nintendo may be replacing Mario with everyones favorite Hyrilian Hero, Link.

This may be good, this may not, what do you think?

(oh and what this mean for those who don't understand, Mario is Nintendos mascot, and may be taken over by Link, so what do you think?)

Wow that isn't right. Mario is Nintendo. The link games are a little more mature than Mario but heck. They cant change that.

I agree, when people think about video games, the first thing they usually think of is Mario. He is a world wide icon and there is no way nintendo wouldn't have them as their main mascot.

Whether you believe me or not, this is not a April Fools Joke, and AJ kid, I didnt say the Gamestop Manager said it, I said the Nintendo Representative came in and was talkin to him about it, because in the Gamestop there is a Nintendo Light with Mario on it. She said they might take it down and replace it with Link, and he said why? I was troublesome at first, but think about it.

Nintendo is trying to come up with new Mario Ideas and thats great, they do good, but how much more can we expect from them? Hes been in space, at the castle, on a island, next it will be Mario: The Adventure in your mothers Whom. I think it is a good change, if they do it...

I understand your point, but the same thing can be said for Zelda. He can't exactly end up in space, the future, or anything like that. Zelda has been less diverse in its games than Mario. Zelda's plot in almost every game: Run through hyrule to kill Ganon. Mario's Plot: Run through mushroom kingdom, space, underwater, etc. to kill Bowser. They are both extremely consistent, but I think that consistency is what helps Nintendo make above average games year in and year out.

Well this was brought up in the last podcast as a question Ichigo had (surprised no mentioned it...me wondering if anyone actually listens to them now ) but as I said on there, Link will never, I repeat NEVER, replace Mario. It is impossible, you go anywhere and you say the name Mario and instantly people think of Nintendo. Mario was around in the beginning on Donkey Kong, Mario Bros. and of course Super Mario Bros.

Also, play as Snake on SSBB against Mario in Snake's stage and activate his intercom so he communicates with someone and they will even talk about how Mario is the mascot and known throughout the world. And while Zelda and Mario pretty much get the same amount of games released on each system doing their main thing (Mario as platformer, Zelda as action/adventure) Mario triples, maybe quadruples Link in games because there are games like Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, Mario Strikers, etc. When Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf hope into go-karts then you can actually say that Link will become the new mascot...but it will never happen.
