Wiiware: More than just games?

Could Wiiware be the one we look to for a proper media channel? Will one of the developers be the one to give us a channel capable of creating playlists with our songs of multiple audio formats(.mp3,AAC,mpeg,etc...)with a set of controls (FF,RW,Pause, skip, shuffle)and watching videos. These would have to be through the SD slot of course or computer to wii streaming. Well I think that it is possible for developers to make more than just games, but channels more like The Photo Channel if they so desire. I know I would pay for a channel like that. There are already developers on the internet who use the internet for streaming media from your computer to your wii allowing you to access all the video, music and photos you already have. You have to pay for these services but I would feel more secure if I payed someone I trust through Wiiware for a channel dedicated to media.

Also, as we have seen with the Pokemon Ranch Channel, some Wiiware titles expand on the functions of already existing games. Could this mean that there is a chance to bring Pictochat online (something I think should have been a main feature of the application) by making a channel that allows you to use the DS as the input device and the Wii's online capabilities. I would very much like to see a channel like that get developed.

So what are some of your ideas for the Wiiware channel? What games do you think could see an extension via their own channel such as Pokemon Ranch or my Pictochat Channel idea. Are there any channels like the Media Channel that you would like to see developed?

With the Launch of WiiWare now executed, it is only a matter of time before developers realize that they could get in on a great idea and maybe make more than just the ordinary game.

Well...it's true that they could make more than the ordinary game with wiiware downloads...but it'll probably never be something grand because of the file size limitation...it has to fit comfortably on your Wii...since I don't think they've found a way to directly download to your SD card. So we're talking low technology. Though the photo channel is slightly impressive...any functions they release will probably not be greater if not equal to the standard features they give on the PS3 or Xbox 360. Though I may be wrong...who knows. Hopefully someone else does because I'm a lazy researcher.
